WORK to strengthen Stoke Lacy bridge is being completed this afternoon.
Herefordshire Council said that repair works to the bridge on the A465 between Hereford and Bromyard have been completed well ahead of schedule after it was discovered that some anticipated works were not necessary.
The closure of the bridge, which required essential maintenance works, has meant weeks of diversions for commuters.
The bridge will reopen at 6pm this evening.
