A DUDLEY hotel is calling on people to donate their unwanted warm coats to help the homeless when winter bites.

Village Hotel staff, guess and big-hearted Black Country residents are being asked to drop off their unwanted coats at the Castle Gate hotel for the items to be distributed to those in need.

The campaign was launched on National Homeless Day, where the hotel group has set itself the target of collecting 1,000 coats throughout October and November.

Every coat that is dropped off will be donated to the homeless via seven key homeless charities across England, Scotland and Wales.

The project is part of the hotel's wider Village Green initiative, which will see the hotel group commit more than 30,000 hours each year to volunteering in the local communities of its hotels.

The Village Hotel in Dudley is accepting coat donations now.
