A Ross-on-Wye teenager, who is hoping to study at Cambridge University, is the new Head Boy at Monmouth School for Boys.
Joe Harrison, a keen rower and a talented musician, is taking A levels in History, French and Maths.
Eighteen-year-old Joe, who lives near the south Herefordshire town, is interested in journalism and would like to read a degree in History and French at Cambridge.
"We have lots of exciting ideas for the year ahead and would like to be role models for the other boys at Monmouth," said the Herefordshire teenager, whose role is officially titled Head of School.
"We would also like to organise some very positive charity events in collaboration with the senior prefects at Monmouth School for Girls."
Joe is a saxophonist in MOJO, the school's jazz orchestra, and represented Wales over the summer at the Home International Rowing Regatta in Strathclyde.
Tom Edwards and Cameron Michie, both 17, will be supporting Joe in their roles of Deputy Head Boys.
Tom is studying Maths, Further Maths, French and History at A level and would like to read a degree in History and Economics at the University of Oxford.
Cameron is a keen rower and hopes to read a degree in Physics and Philosophy at the University of Oxford.
He is studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and English at A level.
