A REDDITCH microbrewery is celebrating its first year of trading - with a limited-edition birthday beer.

Launched in late 2018, Lab Culture boasts a unique brewing process, taking advantage of the wasted heat from LED lighting used for the group’s vertical farm, Vertivore, which produces high-quality year-round salads, herbs and plants.

Fast forward just 12 months and Lab Culture is now being sold in renowned supplier chains and has also been featured in several pubs and bars around the Midlands.

And to celebrate it has released a special beer, called Birthday Cake IPA, comprising Chinook and Amarillo hops with Lactose and Vanilla 'for the birthday cake feels and perfect party mix'.

Michael Capewell, director of Lab Culture, said: “The team and I are extremely excited to celebrate our first anniversary at Lab Culture. The party beer fully represents what Lab Culture has to offer; something a bit quirky and different from your regular beers.

“We’ve been incredibly lucky to have had such a phenomenal first year in business.”
