ALCESTER’s recent food festival attracted more than 20,000 food and drink lovers and has been called bigger and better than ever.

The event, held over the weekend, was more popular than ever with more than 100 stalls lining the High Street offering a vast array of local produce.

Alison Brown, one of the organisers, said: “It went really well. I think it was better than ever, it was a really good atmosphere and everyone had a great time.”

She thanked fellow organisers, volunteers, and anyone else who helped on the day saying it would not have been possible without their hard work.

During the festival litter pickers were on hand to help clear up any rubbish and marshals, including several from local pubs, helped to keep the event well-managed.

Next year's festivals have already been announced - May 16 and October 17.
