RESIDENTS are being invited to Coughton Court this winter for a magical evening at its annual Christmas Wassail event.

On Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8 at 4.30pm and 7.30pm the renowned traditional Coughton Wassail returns with a feast of festive delights from Birmingham’s Crescent Theatre.

The evening will take place in Coughton’s stunning double height Saloon which will be dressed for a traditional family Christmas where a floor to ceiling Christmas tree adorned with foliage and vintage hand crafted decorations will greet visitors as they enter the Saloon.

Settle down in front of a roaring fire and enjoy an evening’s entertainment of carolling and festive stories with mince pies and mulled wine to take the edge off the winter frost.

The Crescent Theatre is one of Birmingham’s oldest theatre companies and Coughton is delighted to welcome the company back to perform at the court's longest standing musical tradition.

Visitors will also be able to pick up their own song sheets and join in with the fun and sing along to the Christmas songs we all know and love.

Abi Cole, marketing and events officer at Coughton, said: "The Wassail has been performed at Coughton for over 20 years and over that time has become a Christmas tradition for visitors, volunteers and staff alike. The atmosphere in the Saloon is truly magical and it’s the perfect event to get everybody feeling suitably festive and in the holiday spirit – a magical event not to be missed."

She added: "So why not make the Wassail at Coughton Court a family Christmas tradition and start off the holiday season with a selection of beautiful Christmas music and touching stories from Birmingham’s renowned Crescent Theatre."
