CHILDREN at a north Herefordshire primary school have been putting their artistic talents to the test with a Christmas card competition.

Pupils at Withington Primary School were asked to put their festive 'Christmas at Home' designs on paper by property developer, David Wilson Homes.

More than 70 students took part, with the winner receiving 30 copies of their fantastic design as well as a £50 Argos voucher to spend over the holidays.

The competition runners up also received prizes for their entries.

Head Sarah Houchen said: “We were delighted when David Wilson Homes reached out to us and asked us to be a part of its Christmas Card Competition, it’s a great way for our pupils to get into the spirit of the season.

“We’d like to say thank you to the developer for asking us to take part in the competition. It’s lovely to see a big company like David Wilson Homes engage with the community surrounding its development.”

Valerie Martin of David Wilson Homes said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to Withington Primary School for taking part in our competition. It was a pleasure to see the children get creative and design their own Christmas cards, everyone’s entries were truly fantastic."
