A CRASH between a bus and a van closed the A49 near Craven Arms on Monday morning.

Two patients have been treated by paramedics, and remained closed for around three hours between Stokesay Castle and the Walton turn off at Onibury.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 10.39am (on Monday, January 20) by West Mercia Police to the A49 near Craven Arms.

"One ambulance attended and the crew arrived to find an RTC between a van and a bus.

"Two patients required assessment. One patient, a passenger on the bus, was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as a precaution.

"The second patient was assessed and discharged at the scene."

The road re-opened around 2pm.
