Beware of road closures if you are driving in Herefordshire and Worcestershire on Wednesday, February 26.

Worcestershire County Council was expecting to close New Road, Worcester, and the city's main Worcester Bridge as floodwaters continue to swell the river Severn.

The A443 Hylton Road, A44 Tybridge Street and A449 Croft Road in Worcester were all closed by flooding last night (Tuesday).

It has warned people to make alternative travel plans for Wednesday.

Householders in parts of the city have been told to prepare for flooding.

The Environment Agency's flood barriers at Bewdley, Worcestershire, were topped last night (Tuesday).

People in Herefordshire have been warned that rain over the coming days and into the weekend my see the rivers Wye and Lugg rise again, particularly around Mordiford and Ross-on-Wye.

That means properties that have already suffered flooding could be hit again.

The A438 at Letton was closed yesterday (Tuesday) due to flooding.

The A4113 Leintwardine, B4164 Symonds Yat, B4224 Mordiford, B4399 Rotherwas relief road remain shut by flooding.

7am update: Worcester Bridge is currently open to all traffic. Water is  starting to come on to New Road, Worcester.

The county council says it will keep the road and bridge open as long as possible.

9am update: The following roads have reopened around the Leominster area, according to Herefordshire Council/Balfour Beatty Living Places. A4110 Stretford (by A44 junction), B4361 Hereford Road at Wharton (Elms Green) and C1039 from Bicton Ho.se to Kingsland.

The A438 at Letton has also re-opened.
