DRIVERS are being urged to avoid the A38 between Bromsgrove and Droitwich after a major crash involving several cars.
Police are advising drivers to avoid the dual carriageway and find alternative routes, even though some traffic is now moving.
The accident happened just after 4.20pm today near the Chateau Impney Hotel.
West Midlands Ambulance Service described the incident at the junction of the A38 Bromsgrove Road and Ford Lane as a 'multi-vehicle road traffic collision' - adding that an ambulance had been sent to the scene.

West Mercia Police tweeted: "RTC A38 Bromsgrove Road junction with Ford Lane, Droitwich. Traffic is at a standstill, please use an alternative route."
Bromsgrove Police added: "The collision is causing significant traffic disruption in the area, please avoid!"
The A38 Northbound closed. The road was also closed Southbound earlier but is now open.
