The A38 between Bromsgrove and Droitwich is at a "standstill" after a collision involving several vehicles on Wednesday afternoon.

Police are advising drivers to avoid the dual carriageway and find alternative routes after the accident which happened just after 4.20pm near the Chateau Impney Hotel.

West Midlands Ambulance Service described the incident at the junction of the A38 Bromsgrove Road and Ford Lane as a 'multi-vehicle road traffic collision' - adding that an ambulance had been sent to the scene.

West Mercia Police tweeted: "RTC A38 Bromsgrove Road junction with Ford Lane, Droitwich. Traffic is at a standstill, please use an alternative route."

Bromsgrove Police added: "The collision is causing significant traffic disruption in the area, please avoid!"
