GRATEFUL residents across Bromsgrove and Redditch stood on their doorsteps last night to "Clap for Carers" and NHS workers dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
Readers have been sending in videos of the heartwarming scenes from their street, as people across the nation joined together at 8pm to pay tribute to the people on the frontline.
The Royal Family and the Prime Minister, who has since announced he has coronavirus, joined well-wishers who flocked to their balconies, doorsteps and windows to applaud.
The videos show last night's scenes at Breme Lodge on Breme Park and Woodland Grange Estate in Bromsgrove.
A message from the NHS on social media described the tribute as "emotional".
On Thursday, the number of coronavirus deaths in the UK jumped by more than 100 in a day for the first time.
The death toll has risen from 475 to 578, health officials said, with 11,658 confirmed cases.
