A SECURITY officer was spat at after he told a man to join the queue outside a supermarket in Hereford.

Around 10am on Saturday morning (March 28) a man approached the entrance to Sainsbury's, in Barton Yard, when he was asked to join the social distancing queue, West Mercia Police said.

He then spat in the face of the security officer and left the area. The offender is said to be a man in his twenties, around 5ft 8ins tall.

He was wearing a blue puffer jacket with the hood up and black jogging bottoms with a white logo on the left leg. He had white socks and black and white trainers on.

DC Tony Shaw said: “This is unacceptable behaviour, especially in the current climate but we do not condone behaviour like this at any time and are keen to find the individual responsible.
