LullaBaby offers a wide variety of baby classes across north Worcestershire. Activities vary from sensory play to baby yoga. Recently LullaBaby started offering virtual classes to allow people to access the fun sessions from their homes during the Coronavirus outbreak - 10% of those fees are being donated to the NHS.

Who are you? Jo Coote

When did you open and why? 2018. After having my son in 2012, I didn’t want to go back to my job as a lecturer in children’s care, learning and development. I ran baby classes in the Bromsgrove area for another company for 5 years, but decided it was time to develop my own programme and offer others the same opportunity of the work-life balance I had, through the LullaBaby franchise.

Tell us about your business: LullaBaby offers a variety of activities, and is linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage. Activities have been designed to expose your baby to experiences that will build connections in the brain and promote their early development, including baby massage, baby yoga, sensory play, calming & relaxation techniques, baby sign language and music.

How did you decide on the name? I thought it was a nice play on words, which implies the company has links to babies, but also a sense of calm.

Who works there? I am the founder and managing director. We have franchisees covering a large portion of Worcestershire: Stacy Vallint - LullaBaby Kidderminster, Jo Evans - LullaBaby Droitwich and Worcester, Sam Oakley - LullaBaby South Birmingham, and Meesha Willis in Newport, Wales. LullaBaby is also going to be launching in Surrey and Warwickshire soon.

Who are your customers? Parents/carers of babies and toddlers ages 0-2 years

What’s your proudest moment in business? We so often get to see children reaching their milestones, from rolling for the first time, to taking their first steps. My proudest moment has been watching people take on the LullaBaby franchise and building their own businesses to support their own families. We are finalists in the national Club Hub awards for “Start-Up of the Year.”

What are your ambitions for the future? To continue to develop the LullaBaby franchise, nationally.

We are offering virtual classes through LullaBaby at Home. For every course that is purchased, we are donating 10% to the NHS
