UPDATE 3.30pm: The road has now reopened
A MAIN road through Herefordshire has been closed this morning (Monday) as a fallen tree blocks the road.
The A44 between Leominster and Bromyard has been blocked since the early hours of the morning due to a large chestnut tree blocking the road, Herefordshire Council said.
The tree is near Bredenbury, between Westington Court and Noakes Cottage.
A spokesperson for the council said the diversion via the A465 from Bromyard to Burley Gate, the A417 to Dinmore and the A49 to Leominster.
A contractor is currently on site assessing the works and the road is expected to reopen at "lunchtime".
