A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a car overturned in Halesowen.

Medics were called to Stourbridge Road just after 8.30am this morning (May 29) to reports of an overturned car.

The driver of the car managed to get herself out of the vehicle before being treated at the scene by paramedics for injuries not believed to be serious.

She was taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.38am to reports of an overturned car on Stourbridge Road. One ambulance attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was the driver of the car. She had managed to get herself out of the vehicle and was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Russell’s Hall Hospital for further assessment."

The road was blocked at Belle Vale but has since cleared.
