THE clapping is over at least for the time being but the people of Tenbury and the surrounding area will not forget the efforts of frontline NHS workers during a dark time.
For 10 weeks, every Thursday evening, people gathered on their doorsteps and in their gardens to join the nationwide salute to the National Health Service and all the doctors, nurses, cleaners, administrators and other support staff who have put themselves in harm’s way to save lives.
The people of St Michael’s on the outskirts of Tenbury had a special way of showing their appreciation.
Shops and businesses in Tenbury have also found their own way of saying ‘thank you’ with some offering concessions and providing meals and treats to NHS workers.
The Teme Tenbury volunteers will continue to make sure that the vulnerable get their medicines.
