THE coronavirus death toll at Herefordshire's hospitals stands at 56, the latest NHS England figures show.

NHS England figures show 56 people had died in hospital at Wye Valley NHS Trust as of 5pm on Monday (July 13).

As of 3.56pm on Monday, 817 coronavirus cases had been identified in Herefordshire.

The number of cases had risen significantly over the weekend following the identification of 74 coronavirus cases among workers at vegetable grower AS Green and Co in Mathon.

Across the midlands, five new deaths were announced, while a total of 26 were recorded across England.

Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.

This means some of the deaths that were first recorded in the last 24 hours may actually have taken place days earlier.
