WORCESTER has seen a drop in the number of new cases of Covid-19.

The Public Health England (PHE) weekly figures are based on tests that have been carried out both in laboratories and in the wider community, and provide the data for each local authority area.

They help to determine whether local lockdown could be needed.

The latest PHE figures show Worcester had, during the week ending July 12, an infection rate of 2.9 cases per 100,000 people.
