A MOTHER from Worcestershire will undertake a 35-mile barefooted walk to help Ethiopian women afflicted by a horrific post-childbirth condition.
In June, Kalantha Brewis, of Eckington, near Pershore, will walk for four days from her home to Birmingham Women’s Hospital in aid of the Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa.
Mrs Brewis said she was inspired to do the walk after she researched the condition when a leaflet from a charity was dropped through her letterbox.
“The more I thought about it the more I realised how horrendous it was,” said the mother-of-three. To sponsor Mrs Brewis, visit justgiving.com/walking barefoot or send cheques to Hamlin Fistula UK at 4 Parade Buildings, Nimmings Road, Halesowen, B62 9JJ.
