A MUM from Stourport has described her shock after her 10-year-old daughter found two bags and 13 bottles filled with human waste at the side of a busy road.

St Wulston’s Catholic Primary School student Chloe Blanchfield was taking part in a litter pick challenge when she discovered two bags containing human faeces and 13 bottles of urine in a bush off the A449, near to the Mitre Oak pub.

Mum Karen said: "I'm still in shock over it - 13 bottles of urine and two full bags of litter including human faeces were found in this area.

"Whoever left this behind should be ashamed. Use a toilet. The Mitre oak pub is a few hundred yards away from this location."

Karen said the bottles were found in a layby, near to where a fast food van sits on weekdays.

She said: "This layby is also used for long-distance drivers needing a break and lorry drivers resting overnight."

Chloe left a note on a nearby bin for passersby, reading "Just because you throw it in a bush, does not mean it disappears forever" and the issue was reported to the district council.

Sharon Casswell, client services manager at Wychavon District Council, said: “This is obviously incredibly unpleasant and unnecessary.

"We of course clear bins and excess waste as quickly as possible, but would encourage people to report any overflowing bins to us so that we can to them even quicker.

"We will monitor the situation and see what more can be done to improve it.”
