A ROAD worker was trapped between a bus and a lorry in Kidderminster town centre this afternoon.
The Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham was dispatched to the scene in Coventry Street just before 1pm, alongside a land ambulance and a paramedic officer.
A spokesman for West Midland Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.47pm to Coventry Street in Kidderminster to a report of a collision involving a bus, a lorry and a pedestrian.
"We treated one patient, a man, who had got caught between the two.
"He was treated for potentially serious injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham by land ambulance for further treatment."
West Mercia Police said the Health and Safety Executive has been called to the scene.
A police spokesman said: "The Health and Safety Executive has been called after a male road worker suffered crush injuries to his leg when a bus negotiated a corner in roadworks in Coventry Street, Kidderminster.
"The incident was reported to police at 1pm on Thursday, June 13.
"Initial reports indicate that the man was momentarily trapped between the bus and a stationary lorry.
"An ambulance and air ambulance attended the scene, and the man was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham for further assessment and treatment.
"Initial reports are that the man has suffered an open wound to his leg."
Police are now checking CCTV and liaising with the Health and Safety Executive.
