KEMP Hospice is calling on Wyre Forest businesses to support its annual Christmas campaign to remember people's lost loved ones.

The charity has been running the Light up a Life campaign for more than 25 years to honour the memories of residents' relatives who have died, by making a donation and placing a personalised tag on Christmas trees placed across the district.

Light up a Life trees will be put up at KEMP Hospice in Mason Road, the Bewdley charity shop and at Little Lakes Holiday Park, and a celebration service will be held at Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday, December 7.

The service, which is free to attend, will take place at 11am following a special 10.30am blessing of a tree located at the Swan Centre.

There will be remembrance readings from members of the hospice team, Christmas carols performed by Kidderminster Valentines choir and a Christmas Grotto for children after the service.

Any local businesses that would like to sponsor a tree tag and accept donations on behalf of the charity are encouraged to get in touch with KEMP.

Head of fundraising and marketing at KEMP, Cathy Sloan, said: "Christmas can be a difficult time for anyone who has lost a loved one.

"Light up a Life is a chance for people to celebrate the life of a loved one and support their local hospice.

"Light up a Life is for everyone, it’s not just for people who have used our services.

“This year, KEMP celebrates its golden anniversary and Light up a Life has been a huge part of our history.

"For over 25 years we’ve been remembering those who can’t be with us at Christmas and this year we want everyone to get involved - to celebrate, to commemorate and to donate so that we can continue to help local families who need KEMP at their darkest time.”
