CHILDREN have been making friends at a care home, enjoying activities with the residents.

Early in 2018 children from Pinvin Community Pre School made their first visit to Stonebow Care Home in Peopleton a visit which was so successful that by September it had become a regular two weekly trip.

The children and the residents enjoy the time they spend together doing arts and crafts, playing with Lego, drawing or just chatting about anything and everything. One extra special activity was building an aeroplane under the supervision of Bill who is ex RAF and who will be 100 years old in May.

On Tuesday February 12, the school took six children to join some of the residents for lunch, Racheal the cook at Stonebow was very accommodating and cooked some of the children’s favourite foods.

While they were sat around the table, they talked about lots of different things, the children told the residents they have great fun coming to play with them. The school is planning to go for lunch again on March 5 when they will share some pancakes together.

Later in the year as a joint venture, the Pre School, Stonebow Care Home and the Air Ambulance will be holding a charity masquerade ball at the Vale Golf Club which will include a three-course meal, a silent auction and music late into the evening, tickets for this fund raising event are available now.
