OFFICERS are investigating a number of crimes in the Evesham area.

The front and rear VRM plates were stolen from a car parked in the car parking area at The Valley garden centre, Twyford. This happened between 9 am and 12:50 on Friday (July 19.)

Vehicle number plate theft is a national problem and has increased in recent years due to an increase in speed cameras, rising petrol costs and toll charges on certain roads. Offenders have looked at ways to hide the identities of their vehicles, so they can engage in criminal activity and avoid detection.

A home on Cheltenham Road was entered and intruders stole an Xbox and games. This happened between 9:30 and 11:30 on Thursday (July 18)

Witnesses reported hearing a break in at a sports club in Bretforton and reported seeing two people in a grey coloured Ford Fiesta around 3:45pm on Sunday (July 21). It was found that the club premises had been broken into and a small green coloured safe and contents was stolen. The safe was later recovered locally.
