A Farewell Afternoon Tea recently took place in Broadway for long standing Signpost volunteer, Eileen Lockyer.

Mrs. Eileen Lockyer spoke about her experience at Signpost: “I was asked to be a founder member of ‘Signpost’ in 1999, and I jumped at the chance to be a member of the Team. We came from diverse backgrounds, and together we offered a wide range of skills in order to be of service to the local community. “

“We all wanted to give something back, and I think we have succeeded in helping many people to find the help and information they needed over the years.”

“I am very proud to have been part of ‘Signpost’, and hope it will continue to grow and give service to the community in the future”.

Mrs. Helen Rushmore Chair of Signpost Broadway said: “We owe so much to dedicated volunteers like Eileen who over the past twenty years have helped provide a caring and helpful presence in Broadway to assist the local community to gain access to help and information on a wide range of issues.”

As the Charity name says, the aim of the charity is to ‘signpost’ clients to the most appropriate agencies and information sources. The volunteers provide help and a confidential, listening ear to all who pop in to the office.

Signpost acts as an information Hub for the community.
