A PLACE in the Sun star and former estate agent Amanda Lamb paid a visit to a retirement village to host a masterclass on selling house.

The presenter who shot to fame hosting the Channel 4 show and more recently Selling Houses visited Richmond Villages in Wood Norton on Friday August 2 and spoke to guests about how best to market a property, homes as investments and retirement living choices.

Amanda said: “It was a joy to support Richmond Villages with this event, to share my personal advice about how to prepare your house for sale, and hear other people’s tips and stories."

“The Richmond Villages’ proposition is interesting as residents can own their own property while receiving the level of care required as they get older and enjoying the amazing facilities available too.”

Amongst her tips, Amanda advised attendees to declutter carefully, think about what can realistically be taken to a new property, consider their current property needs and the lifestyle they want in the future, and suggested that they take advantage of the knowledge and expertise of local estate agents and financial advisers when planning a move.

Richmond Village Manager, Paul Brady said; “We’ve had lots of conversations with homebuyers considering selling their homes and buying a Richmond property. We understand that it is a big decision for people and can be quite daunting, it was therefore great to work with Amanda on this to unravel the mind field."

“Many of our residents have more than one property and so it was great to hear Amanda’s thoughts on the current market and whether now is a good time to invest in light of the current uncertainty around the B word and potential increases in stamp duty.”

Richmond Wood Norton is situated in the heart of the community and has a range of luxury retirement accommodation to suit each individual resident’s needs, including retirement apartments and suites, plus a 60 bed care home.

Residents have access to state-of-the-art facilities and communal spaces – such as a wellness spa, fitness suite, landscaped gardens, a restaurant and games lawn.

Along with these facilities, events held at the village means that residents can socialise regularly and maintain their independence.
