To mark Libraries Week, 7-12 October, libraries across Worcestershire are holding events and activities highlighting the different ways they can help people of all ages through digital support, services and activities.

Evesham, Pershore and Broadway Libraries will be offering a range of support from their Digital Volunteers.

Help is available in Evesham every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon; Pershore on Wednesdays and Fridays, and by arrangement at Broadway. Our friendly library staff are available to support customers with any questions or support at any time.

With a focus on celebrating and creating libraries in the digital world Worcestershire’s libraries are keen promote the digital opportunities and support available and encourage everyone in the community to discover what the library can do for them.

There are sessions with Digital Champions to help people with their basic computers skills as well as a wide range of adult education courses.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson cabinet member for communities said: “These days libraries are so much more than books. We hope that during National Libraries Week people will take the opportunity to find out what other services we provide.

There are regular adult Learning courses aimed at helping people get online or improve their digital skills. Courses include computing skills for Absolute Beginners, Beginners and Improvers; Touch Typing and Digital Photography, One to one support with internet skills is also available from Library Digital Champions.”

“We have a brilliant programme of activities across all our libraries during Libraries Week. We hope they will bring the community together and people can find out more about all the ways we can help them through digital support and services to get connected, get creative and learn new skills. Everyone is welcome and the library is free to join.”
