A 47-year-old man has appeared in court charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm after two women suffered 'significant injuries', one of whom is still in hospital.

Officers were called to a property in Worcester on Friday evening (June 18) around 7pm following a call from the public that a person had been assaulted and injured. Police and an ambulance were called to Goodwood Avenue, off Battenhall Avenue following the incident.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "When officers and paramedics arrived at the house they found two women who had suffered significant injury, one of whom is still in hospital receiving treatment."

Darren Daley who is 47 years old and from Worcester has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and also causing actual bodily harm and has been remanded into custody following his appearance at Kidderminster Magistrates Court this afternoon.
