FOUR cars with a combined value of £55,000 were stolen from a car dealership in Pershore on Sunday night.

Three BMWs – an M5, X1 and 3 Series – along with an Audi A5 were taken after thieves smashed their way into Pershore Motor Group on the High Street.

The M5, the most valuable vehicle valued at £25,000 was recovered in a cul-de-sac in Malvern with the other three heading to the same destination before being picked up by ANPR cameras heading towards the Sparkbrook area of Birmingham.

The thefts began with glass doors being smashed by the one of the dealership's own flag bases. They later returned to break into the key vaults, taking two of the cars at around midnight and returning for another two at around 2am.

The key to a fifth vehicle, parked in the way of the four performance cars that were taken, also remains missing and the perpetrators did not stop there.

"We have cleaners come in at 5.30 every morning and the cars were missing and the door was smashed in when they got here," said branch manager Ash Potter.

"They have damaged the walls around the safe and as you would expect, they have gone through all the drawers and cupboards, everything, to try to find anything of value.

"Three of the five cars had been sold, customers were waiting to collect them today so we have had to ring round and apologise.

"We have to try to replace or repair broken cars and appease customers so we are completely stressed out at the minute."

Mr Potter revealed forensic evidence including footprints and fingerprints had been taken by police "along with a few other things" as the net seemingly gathers around those responsible.

Anyone with information on the thefts is encouraged to contact West Mercia Police via 101 quoting the reference 52i of June 21.
