A street party, handmade pottery crowns and coronation stamps were part of a school-wide week of fun to mark the historic event in Worcestershire.

The RGS Worcester Family of Schools celebrated the coronation of King Charles III with a range of activities across their four schools.

At RGS Worcester pupils enjoyed an informative headmaster’s assembly looking back at the history of past coronations as well as exploring events such as the Coronation Concert and The Big Coronation Lunch.

Meanwhile, at RGS Dodderhill, pupils created their own coronation stamps, attended a whole school coronation church service, and made crowns in preparation for a school-wide street party themed afternoon tea. Pupils dressed in red, white and blue to mark the occasion with the school courtyard transformed with bunting.

At RGS Springfield, more than 300 entries were received for a coronation themed art competition.

An art exhibition featuring the entries created a wonderful Royal celebration for the pupils to enjoy. The School grounds were also opened for a coronation afternoon picnic for Britannia Square residents during the Bank Holiday weekend.

On Tuesday, the school hosted a Coronation-themed bake-off contest with pupils showcasing their finest creations.

RGS The Grange also organised a coronation-themed dance workshop for Year One pupils and pupils created pottery crowns and crown mosaics.
