I AM pleased with taking six points out of six from our last two games - especially the three at home against Droylsden who are looking to be challengers.

It's been down to my squad of players.

We have used a number of different players in the two games against Lancaster and Droylsden in terms of those who have started and that's a good omen for the rest of the season.

We are not just using the same players but the whole squad to good effect.

I think we have done OK this season without the flowing football that we would like to play.

But we have been in contention in every game this season apart from the Harrogate match.

I think we have been that tiny bit short of quality but not far short.

We have been playing well but missing that spark and that bit of fortune and we have had that in both games on Saturday and Monday.

We have had a bit of good fortune and that spark when we have needed it.

Teams are not going to run away with this league, it's too tight.

There are no Chelseas or Manchester Uniteds with so much money that they are expected to run away with it.

Northwich ran away with the league last year but their wage bill was bigger than everybody elses.

Nobody has a divine right to be at the top and games are going to be nip and tuck and very tight.

We said at the start of the season that we wanted to be in the top 10 and pushing from there. The longer we stay in contention we can make a push for the play-offs and, with the league so tight, maybe the title. We have got to give ourselves a chance.

With Adam Webster coming back that will almost be like a new signing.

I was pleased with the way we defended against Droylsden because they are a strong and physical side. There were some tackles flying in.

They don't like losing and they will try and upset you because they want to win and there's nothing wrong with that. In our other games against Droylsden we have folded and haven't stood up to that.

The incident in which Chris Cornes was allowed to score unopposed was great sportsmanship because if Droylsden had said they weren't going to do it there was nothing we could have done.

There was a similar incident in the Arsenal-Sheffield United FA Cup tie in 1999 which had to be replayed. It also happened in a match between Yeovil and Plymouth.

It would have thrown the game into chaos if something hadn't have been done. It was great sportsmanship from Dave Pace (Droylsden manager) and his players.

I went to him after they scored and said the only way we can end the matter is to let us score so he told his players to do that.

We missed out on a clean sheet, which Danny McDonnell is upset about because that would have been three in a row. But it is a clean sheet as that goal' just didn't count for me.
