WORCESTER golf professional Ollie Farr has missed out on a place in this year's Open Championship by just one shot.
The Boughton Park ace fired impressive rounds of 66 and 68 for a six-under-par-total in the final qualifying event at Dunbar GC in Scotland, near to Muirfield where this year's Open will take place from July 14-21.
However, Farr's two-round total of 134 was one shot worse than the 133s carded by India's Shiv Kapur and Australia's John Wade, while amateur Grant Forrest finished first on eight-under-par.
A disappointed Farr tweeted afterwards: "Weird feeling missing (out) by a shot, gutted I missed but pleased with how I played."
