OUR home form has improved as the season has gone on but we have got to find that killer instinct at home if we are going to achieve what is possible this year.

We have improved to the point where we are getting a great deal of respect from the opposition and they are happy to go away with a point.

Home form is something that has a key bearing on where you finish in the league. Ultimately, it's not been good enough in the first-half of the season.

We started off poorly and our performances have improved but we haven't been able to get the results. We are not getting what our efforts deserve and that has to be rectified.

If we can get that cutting edge in the final third of the pitch we will win games comfortably at home.

The 2-1 defeat against Leigh RMI on Saturday was disappointing after being in control of the game.

When you totally dominate, you think the worse that's going to happen is the game will finish 0-0 because the finishing isn't good enough to score.

The team played good football. We moved the ball and switched play because they got men behind the ball.

We had to be patient and just had to hope we were going to get an opening or take any chances that were created.

Abderrahman Traore had a good opportunity but screwed the ball wide and Chris Cornes had a couple of free-kicks. We didn't create a lot of chances but enough to get in front.

I thought I might have to change things in the second-half although we were on top of the game but then we got the goal at the right time.

As long as we did our jobs professionally that should have been game over because you couldn't see where they could get a goal.

Leigh had no threat up front and weren't winning the midfield battle. They were strong at the back but were not going to score by just being powerful in defence.

I was disappointed we didn't win the game because we definitely should have.

We committed the cardinal sin of conceding from a set-piece. At set-pieces everyone has men to mark and if they do their jobs, teams don't score. It's as simple as that.

It was two or three minutes after our goal and that's when you have to be most vigilant because that's when you're at your most vulnerable.

However, now we turn our attention to the FA Trophy match at Barrow on Saturday. We would like to be in the draw for the next round come Monday but Barrow were tough on the first day of the season when we won 1-0 with Craig Wilding's goal.

If we can get through to the next round we will be getting close to the business end of the competition. If we can play as we have done away from home this season we should be OK - but it will be a tough game for us.
