DIRECTOR of basketball Paul James says Worcester Wolves must guard against complacency at London Lions tonight (7.30).

Wolves are riding the crest of a wave after opening their British Basketball League campaign with back-to-back wins — 117-60 at Surrey United and 73-61 over Leicester Riders.

But, while buoyed by beating defending champions Leicester, James knows his players must keep their feet on the floor against Lions at London Olympic venue the Copper Box Arena.

He said: “We can’t be happy with what we’ve done so far because we’ve only played two games.

“We’ve got to go out there and play with the same energy, intensity and execution as in the previous two games.

“It’s the first time I’ve been to the Copper Box so we will go there, play hard and enjoy it.

“We are seeing more BBL teams playing in really nice venues. It brings a real professionalism to the league and they will have a good crowd there.”

London beat Manchester Giants 80-75 and Plymouth Raiders 79-70 before losing 83-73 at Durham Wildcats.

They have just signed Great Britain 6ft 9ins power forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning.

“That will make them even stronger so it’s going to be a tough test for us,” James added. “He is an exceptional player.”

Forward Jamal Williams and small forward Alex Owumi will be involved despite thigh and ankle injuries respectively.
