WE face some tough games in the month ahead.

Workington, Hinckley Uni-ted and Blyth Spartans are all above us in the table, while we are level on points with Farsley Celtic.

The 2-0 victory over Ketter-ing Town, courtesy of goals from Adam Burley and Geo-rge Clegg, was a great start. It was a superb performance in difficult but perfectly playable conditions.

You can't do anything about the weather. The pitch has been in really good order from last season, it's been fantastic.

We wouldn't have played the match against Kettering if the pitch had been in the same condition as last year when there was no grass on it at all.

It has improved but when the weather's like it was, what can you do? It was bad on Saturday when Evesham's match was abandoned so it's had two really bad games on it so we will just see how it recovers - it's obviously a right mess now.

Against Kettering, we showed that we are a good side and will have to continue that level of performance in the next four or five games to maintain our current rate of progress.

They are all difficult matches and will stretch the squad, because it's going to be a squad effort and not just about 12 or 13 players.

There are some daunting tasks ahead but we are in good form. I don't think we have played badly for some time.

Even with the Leigh RMI game last month, we totally outplayed them and lost the game; I can't remember the last time when we didn't play well or not to near our best.

We have shown a very good level of consistency and ultimately the results have taken care of themselves.

We want to continue our run and if we go through January unbeaten we will get in the top five in the league.

I don't think confidence is a problem at the moment, the lads believe in themselves and I believe totally in the players.

What we don't do is take teams lightly. We treat them with the utmost respect. We will either go and watch them or we will get reports on them.

Any team in this league is capable of beating anyone. If we are not prepared or focus-ed then we will come unstuck.

I believe we can win any game at our level. I think we have got a well organised side where everyone knows their job and in that side we have got very good individual players who can change the game in an instant.

On the injury front, Des Lyttle's leg was stamped on against Kettering but hopefully he will be OK by Saturday.

Sam Wedgbury is back in training with Sheffield United so we will have to wait and see if he can play for us at Farsley on Saturday.

He didn't play as many games as I would have liked, but that is partly down to the injury he sustained at Barrow and the fact the Redditch game was called off.
