ST Martin's had mixed fortunes in Worcester Table Tennis League Division Three, beating YMCA Elizabethans but losing to leaders St George's Dragons.

Dave Watton was in good form for St Martins against Elizabethans, winning all his three singles in straight sets.

Watton also took a close doubles, partnered by Tony Harding, in the Saints' 7-3 win.

Peter Kasch gave good support with two wins, coming back well to beat Brian Ovington in the deciding fifth set after losing the first two.

Kasch had earlier lost 6-11 in the decider to Dave Bradley, who also beat Harding. Elizabethans returned to winning ways with a 9-1 defeat of YMCA Wildcats, whose only win came when Piotr Chmurzynski saw off Bradley.

Chmurzynski also had a close game with Lisa Lang, going down 9-11 in the decider.

Lang won her two other games and skipper Ovington was unbeaten for Elizabethans.

St Martins, at home to table-topping St George's Dragons, were soundly beaten 8-2.

Geoff Woodward and Steve Mills each recorded three singles wins but they were hard pressed in the doubles by Watton and Kasch who won the first two sets but faded to lose the last three.

Saints' two wins came from Watton and Kasch as they both beat Samuel Mills, who achieved an easy win over Doug Young.
