MALVERN manager Paul Molloy has emphasised the importance of a victory to his team on Saturday.

The Langland Stadium side have not played since recording an excellent 2-0 victory at Bromsgrove Rovers on February 17, with last Saturday's home match against Barton Rovers postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

It was the second time in a month that Malvern's fixture list had been blighted by the weather following the postponement against league leaders Brackley on February 10.

In that time they have dropped to 13th in Southern League Division One Midlands as teams start to make up their games in hand.

Malvern make the long trek to Hertfordshire to face basement boys Berkhamsted Town (3pm) looking to build on the Bromsgrove success.

Molloy said: "I think we have had a game called off for every occasion apart from fog. We are just raring to go and get a game.

"It's important that we win and stay in the frame. We wanted to back up the victory at Rovers with a home win against Barton last Saturday and then another at Berkhamsted away."

Town drew 1-1 with Berkhamsted when the sides met in November and Molloy is hoping for some revenge.

"We should have beaten them at home," he said. "We will be looking to put that right with three points.

"We have proved we can beat anybody in this league but we drew at Barton in January who are second from bottom. We won't be taking anything for granted."

Midfielder Jamie Hyde returns from suspension tomorrow, while Wes Joyce serves the second of a three-match ban.

Striker Ollie Endacott is about a week away from a comeback after a spell on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage.
