POINT guard Matt Collins will step up his recovery from the concussion he suffered against Guilford Heat last weekend by taking up a starting role for Worcester Wolves' home clash with Sheffield Sharks tonight (tip-off 7pm).

Collins received cuts to his face and was drifting in and out of consciousness following an on-court collision during the 93-71 British Basketball League defeat at the University of Worcester sports centre.

However, director of basketball Mick Donovan received medical clearance for Collins to play against Chester Jets last night and the influential player is set to be more heavily involved tonight.

Meanwhile, James Noel is still struggling with a tight hamstring and was scheduled to have a late fitness test on the injury before a decision was made on whether to include him against Sharks.

Bottom-of-the-table Wolves have had some ding-dong battles with the Sharks this season and Donovan is expecting the latest match-up to be no different.

He said: "We have had some brilliant games with Sheffield. We had the dramatic over-time defeat in the BBL Trophy and they have beaten us twice at their place, but we beat them at home, so it looks set to be a great game.

"Although the BBL title is likely to be won by Guildford or Sheffield, Newcastle Eagles are not out of the picture either. So, with us playing Sheffield tonight and Newcastle in two weeks, Wolves have the chance to have a major say in where the title goes this season."

Donovan added: "At home anything can happen - the lads always seem to raise their game in front of the cheering Wolves fans."

The key threat for Sheffield will be American small forward Jeff Bonds, who Donovan rates as one of the best players in the BBL.
