STOURPORT Hockey Club’s under-18 boys’ team just missed out on the national indoor semi-finals in Nottingham.
They won 6-1 against York with goals from Dan Dew (3), James Taylor, Fergus Anderson and Dan Fisher.
The teenagers then beat Ashmoor 2-1 thanks to Fisher and Soren Brauer.
The U-18s then lost to a strong Surbiton side 3-2 before losing 3-1 to eventual winners Harleston Magpies.
Meanwhile, Abbie Yapp and Alice Bunting scored in Stourport Women’s Seconds’ 2-2 draw at Solihull Blossomfield in Midlands Two.
Stourport Thirds beat Redditch 3-0 in Worcestershire League Division One through Leanne Stysaker (2) and Jodi Vincent.
Captain Hannah Yates and Lucy Hawkes scored twice in the fourths’ 4-0 home win over Kings Heath in Division Two, while the fifths lost 3-0 at Bromsgrove Thirds.
In Division Three, the sixths drew 2-2 with Kings Heath Seconds after goals from Teri Baron and Karen McIntyre.
Adam Leeke (2) netted in Stourport Men’s Seconds’ 5-2 defeat to Stratford.
Jack Beasley was on target in the fifths’ 1-1 draw with Olton. They beat Old Halesonians 4-2 the next day through Sam Dew’s four goals.
