EVESHAM United continued to cling on to their Southern League Division One South and West play-off hopes.

They enjoyed a third straight win with a 5-2 success over Larkhall Athletic at the Jubilee Stadium and gained some revenge for losing to them in the play-off semi-finals last season.

The Robins took the lead in the 13th minute when Adam Mann scored after being set up by Jacob Sloggett.

The visitors equalised on the half-hour mark when centre-half Will Wellon was adjudged to have fouled Dean Griffiths in the box and the resultant penalty was put away by Jamie Lyons.

The game remained even until injury-time when Ashley Williams scored his first goal for the club with a powerful header from a Sean Wood corner.

Five minutes after the break, Lance Smith’s effort was pushed out to Lewis Binns on the edge of the box and he found an empty net.

Smith and Mann went close before the 78th minute when a Clayton Green cross was put away by Mann from close range.

In the 89th minute, Larkhall scored a soft goal with Josh Egan netting.

But there was still time for Mann, set up by Binns, to complete his hat-trick with the final kick of the match.

Evesham have only suffered two defeats in 19 games and went up to seventh having played a couple more games than their rivals.
