WEST Midlands Women’s Football League Division One South leaders Worcester United play the first of their two cup finals this season on Sunday.

The club, set up in 2010 after the demise of the old Worcester City team, have been building towards their current success following promotion from the Herefordshire and Worcestershire League.

United, who are hoping to raise their profile in the city, go for silverware against local rivals Malvern Town in the Worcestershire FA Sunday Women’s Cup final at Bromsgrove Sporting’s Victoria Ground (1pm).

Malvern are currently third from bottom in United’s division.

Worcester also have a West Midlands League Cup final to look forward to on Sunday, April 24.

Last season, the club introduced an under 15s team, who finished third in the Central Warwickshire Girls’ League with a string of impressive performances.

United have also organised an under 18s team for next season.

Any potential new players for the women’s team, who play at the University of Worcester, are asked to contact Ryan on 07754 849489.

Anyone interested in joining the under 18s can email tim@gerhold64.orangehome.co.uk.
