SEAN Geddes is set to leave Worcester City – less than two months after making a surprise return to the club.

Manager Carl Heeley offered Geddes, who left City to join Stourbridge in December, another chance at the Vanarama National League North club after admitting the 24-year-old convinced him of his "hunger" to get back to his best.

However, with just over a week to go before the season gets underway, it has been revealed the former Manchester United trainee, who came off the bench in Worcester’s 4-3 win over Romulus last night, has been given the opportunity to find a new club.

“Geddes who was starting his second spell with us has been informed that it is in the best interests of all parties that he finds another club where he can play regular football,” a club spokesman said.

“We would like to thank Sean for his efforts and wish him well for the future.”

Meanwhile, former Cheltenham Town and Hereford United right-back Andy Gallinagh has signed a one-year deal, while ex-Bristol City youngster Elijah Chilekwa has also joined City.

Evesham-based Gallinagh, 31, has been on trial at the club after being released by Bath City at the end of last season.

The spokesman added: “Andy brings with him a wealth of experience that will be vital over the coming months for City.

“He is a versatile player who can play at either right back or in central defence. We would like to wish Andy a warm welcome to the club.”

Winger Chilekwa has also been training and playing for City over the past week and has managed to impress enough to earn a deal ahead of the new campaign.

The Gambian-born 18-year-old is a Welsh youth international and Heeley says he has demonstrated his “huge potential” in the games against Sutton Coldfield Town and Romulus.

“Elijah has shown glimpses of his pace and trickery,” Heeley said.

“Although he is still very raw, we can see something that we can work with and develop into an asset for the club”

Subject to FA ratification of paperwork, City say they are “very confident” of releasing further news regarding the squad in the “very near future”.
