WORCESTER City have dipped into the loan market to sign goalkeeper Ryan Boot on an initial one-month deal.

The Port Vale 21-year-old will need no introduction to City fans, having previously spent two loan spells at the club.

Worcester manager Carl Heeley said: “We currently have two keepers at the club but in the early part of the season neither Nick (Draper) or Ethan (Ross) have managed to cement the number one shirt and I have found myself being undecided on which one to play.

"I think bringing in Ryan and, with the added security of knowing what he is capable of, was an opportunity that needed taking.”

Boot will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's National League North trip to Bradford Park Avenue (3pm) and he has also been granted permission by his parent club to participate in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy.
