SECOND-choice keeper Nick Draper has joined Evo-Stik Northern Premier League outfit Mickleover Sports on loan.

Worcester City’s stand-in boss John Snape said the 23-year-old would go out for one month “initially” but admitted the deal could be extended until the end of the season.

The Grimsby-based stopper has made three appearances for City since signing last summer with all of them coming in August.

An early-season shoulder injury hampered his chances before he went on loan to Bedworth United where he made eight showings.

But since returning to City in December Draper has been sat on the bench while West Bromwich Albion loanee Ethan Ross has kept hold of the number one jersey.

With Draper moving to Mickleover, City are likely to have no substitute goalkeeper for their match against Tamworth at Bromsgrove’s Victoria Ground tomorrow (3pm).

Snape said: “Nick has gone out on loan to Mickleover for one month initially with a view (to extend it) until the end of the season depending on how we do.”

Draper has been on the books at Alfreton Town, Lincoln City, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Grimsby Town.

Mickleover’s player-manager John McGrath said: “I am delighted to get the services of Nick.

“He is a goalkeeper I have long admired and I really look forward to working with him.

“He will add great experience and competition to our squad.”
