HANLEY Swan racehorse trainer David Dennis is celebrating the opening of the brand new stables at Tyre Hill yard.

The former jockey invited current and prospective owners, syndicate members and friends of the yard to attend a champagne breakfast reception to mark the launch of the new 60-stable yard.

Dennis opened the facilities in 2013 tucked away among 140 acres of farmland and since then has had over 100 winners.

This winning form has attracted new owners and prompted the expansion.

Renowned Herefordshire jockey Richard Johnson cut the ribbon unveiling the brand new stable development which coincided with the infamous Cheltenham Festival week.

It gave horse racing lovers the opportunity to join Dennis and the team for a morning on the gallops followed by a breakfast reception before heading off to enjoy the racing at Cheltenham.

The new state-of-the-art stable development features an additional eight-horse walker and new and improved staff facilities in addition to light and airy loose boxes designed to provide excellent ventilation for each horse.

The additional development is three times the size of the existing stables that are already well equipped with three purpose-built, all weather gallops, an equine pool, solarium and indoor school and horse walker on site.

Dennis said: ‘’We are absolutely thrilled that the new stables and facilities are now complete.

"Being able to showcase the grand 60-stable yard to both current and prospective horse owners marked a great start to Cheltenham Festival week for us.

"It was an honour to have champion jockey Richard at the stable launch for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and to hear all about his rides ahead of the Cheltenham Festival.

"The aim now is to continue to increase the number and quality of the horses in training and have many more winners in the years to come.’’
