WORCESTER City have completed the signing of former player Matt Birley for the 2017-2018 Midland League Premier Division season.
Attacking midfielder Birley, 30, needs no introduction to the City fans as he donned the blue and white stripes from 2009 to 2013.
He has been plying his trade at Halesowen Town but is returning to the Bromsgrove-based club after time with City in the 2016-17 pre-season and being an unused substitute for Worcester in a National League North game.
Joint City manager John Snape said: "I'm happy to be working with Matt again and believe he will bring a big attacking threat."
Birley said: "I am delighted to get the chance to play for Worcester City again."
Bromsgrove-born Birley made one Premier League substitute appearance for Birmingham City in 2005.
He then dropped into non-league football and played for Bromsgrove Rovers, Tamworth, King's Lynn and Solihull Moors along with Worcester.
More Worcester signings will continue to be announced over the coming days.
