HOOKER Niall Annett could miss the rest of Worcester Warriors' season after damaging his knee in training.
The Aviva Premiership outfit have confirmed the Belfast-born front rower had injured his anterior cruciate ligament.
Flanker Matt Cox was struck down in the same training session last week and is set for a spell on the side-lines with a bicep tendon injury.
Warriors have yet to clarity how long the duo will be out for, but it is more sorry news for the league’s bottom side who have been hit by a number of injuries this season.
Speaking last week, director of rugby Gary Gold said Annett and Cox suffered the blows following “completely innocuous” incidents in training.
It is another blow for Annett who has recently overcome a hamstring problem which ruled him out of Warriors’ opening few games.
The 26-year-old also missed several months of last season due to an ankle injury.
