MATT Tyler struck in injury-time as Worcester Raiders snatched a point from a 3-3 draw with Old Wulfrunians in West Midlands League Division One at Claines Lane.

The visitors opened the scoring on 15 minutes before Matt Andrews turned home a cross from Luke Molley who has joined the Worcester side from Malvern Town.

Raiders went 2-1 in front thanks to a header from Shane Shallcross 10 minutes into the second half.

The match then turned in Wulfrunians’ favour as they struck twice to regain the lead and looked set for victory.

But in the third minute of added time, a cross was flicked on by Paris Blake and Tyler was on hand to poke the ball home.

The draw sees Raiders climb to second, five points behind leaders Newport Town but with two games in hand.

Chairman Kevin Jenkins was delighted to see his side bounce back after Welland knocked them out of the Worcester Junior Cup.

“I think we are in the best position we have been in for as long as I can remember,” he said.

“Last week we crashed out of the quarter-final of the county cup which was very surprising as we had a strong side out.

“So for the managers to make five changes and for us to get a draw against a team that are up there shows our strength in depth.”
