WORCESTER City’s trip to Stourport Swifts has been postponed more than 24 hours in advance.
In a post on social media site Twitter, Swifts reported 10 inches of snow remained sat on their pitch with temperatures set to drop as low as -12 during the night according to Met Office forecasts.
With extreme weather kicking in across the region from Sunday onwards, Midland Football League officials have given clubs special dispensation to call off fixtures without the usual practice of a pitch inspection from a qualified referee.
It means City head into Saturday’s home clash with Shawbury United (3pm) having not played for three weeks.
Worcester should have played Stourport away on Saturday, December 2, but the home side’s involvement in the FA Vase took priority.
Saturday’s trip to AFC Wulfrunians was postponed due to snow with tonight’s fixture quickly following suit.
Today, City announced the home clash with landlords Bromsgrove Sporting on Boxing Day (3pm) would not be segregated.
